Academic Coaching for University Excellence & Outcomes

Video One: Let me tell you who I am, what ACUXO is about, and why there’s a good chance you may not qualify for my program.
Who is Matt McCarthy, and why should I entrust him with my son or daughter’s first-year experience?
Why trust Professor Matt McCarthy to guide your son or daughter through their first year of college? Because he has spent more than two decades doing exactly that—at scale, and with measurable results. Having taught tens of thousands of first-year students in one of the largest, most demanding university environments in the country, he understands not just academic content, but the real reasons students struggle: accountability, time management, attendance, and mindset. Professor McCarthy doesn’t guess what works—he’s seen every failure mode, every excuse, and every success story, and he intervenes early, directly, and honestly. Parents trust him because he tells students the truth, holds them to adult standards, and gives them the structure and discipline they need to survive the critical first year.
Will the ACUXO program guarantee that my college student will excel in their first year?
Absolutely NOT! A bad candidate for the ACUXO program is a student who is unwilling to take responsibility for their choices, resists structure, or believes success in college should come without consistent effort. ACUXO is not designed for students who ignore deadlines, avoid class, dismiss feedback, or expect parents, professors, or coaches to rescue them from consequences. Based on its AI application process, ACUXO expects to reject a little over half of the students and parents who apply.
